Provides support services to the Family and Community Medicine clerkship and Longitudinal IPE, Service Learning, Cost Conscious Care, Care of Elderly and Chronically Ill threads of the Care Forward Curriculum that Family Medicine Department has curricular input and leadership in. Manage functions vital to the services provided by the Occupational Health Department.
Coordinate Family Medicine Clerkship M3 students – organize lectures/lecturers; create schedules for up to 26 students for 6 rotations covering a 8 week period; place students with preceptors in the community, some at the GFM and PFM clinical sites; organize/compile information and documents for student syllabi. Maintain Blackboard FM course website and E*Value FM website; process all paperwork; process grades; support coordination of shelf exam; liaison for the Professional Skills center, E*Value, multiple community sites, community faculty, physician group administration, and hospital administration. Must be ready to travel communicate and help with faculty accreditation for development of community teaching site and faculty.
Coordinate Family Medicine Clerkship M4 students – organize schedules for up to 15 M4 students per 11 rotations a year; place in the community, and the GFM and PFM clinical sites; create and coordinate daily schedules for GFM students; liaison with the Office of Education and visiting students.
Coordinate PA students – liaison for FM and PA program; create/coordinate daily schedule for up to 11 PA students per year; assist Medical Director for PA program.
Coordinate LGM students, Medical Master Students and Observerships.
Coordinate with office of medical student education for longitudinal threads of Interprofessional education, service learning, cost conscious care, and care of elderly and chronically ill for all EVMS medical and health professions students as well as health professions training partners such as ODU
Assist FM Medical Student Education Director & Asst. Clerkship Director – coordinate schedules and process correspondence; liaison for director and faculty, staff, FMIG, students, E*Value, Professional Center; coordinate lectures and sites for learning experiences for all Student learning activities involving family medicine department.
Assisting 3 physicians and 1 clinical professor/director of research –liaison for clinic, faculty, staff, and students.
Assist the Medical Student Educational grant team – help facilitate grant proposals; help coordinate and implement grant requirements; liaison for team members; coordinate meetings & schedules; process correspondence.
Assist with special events – help coordinate workshops, dinner meetings.
DFCM general office duties as needed
Performs other duties as assigned.
HS diploma and three years of relevant experience required. Computer experience in word processing, spreadsheets, graphics and database software is required.
