  • Overview

    The Research administrator will work alongside the director in the role of coordinating and supporting the HADSI.  He/she will assist with the research design and statistical support provided by HADSI. In addition, the research administrator will supervise HADSI staff in day-to-day activities and will also be performing additional administrative tasks related to HADSI services and advised by the director.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide basic statistical consultations for faculty, residents, and students in their research projects
    • Conduct simple and complex statistical analyses for work with students, residents and faculty members on new and existing research initiatives
    • Supervise and Manage HADSI staff
    • Plan, supervise, and implement workshops and seminars related to research
    • Ensure usability, security, and effective storage of large datasets housed under HADSITranslate and report data analysis results
    • Assist with grant preparation and abstract/paper presentations
    • Perform data cleaning, data collection, data management, and other data related tasks
    • Assist with teaching or lecturing in research training programs
    • Generate reports for internal and external audiences
    • Assist with faculty and staff recruitment for CHAD
    • Schedule and maintain contact with collaborators
    • Perform additional need HADSI  services
    • Work with the director to prioritize and triage work load
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in biostatistics, statistics or epidemiology (with relevant statistical training) in related field to support our statistical consulting service and other research activities. Five (5) years of relevant experience is required. Experience in data analysis and working collaboratively in a biomedical or health analytic research environment is preferred. Master’s degree is preferred.

     

    The candidate should have experience in supervising research staff, maintaining databases and in producing quarterly reports on service activities provided by HADSI. Additionally the candidate should also have data presentation using spreadsheets and graphical statistical packages. The candidate should also be familiar with organizing data searches, planning analytical approaches, and performing appropriate and informative analyses. More specifically, the candidate should be able to define technical problems in research projects and databases and to implement new or revised statistical approaches to alleviate the problems. The candidate should also be capable of performing critical analyses of the literature relevant to ongoing or planned research. Prior experience in writing grants, abstracts and manuscripts for publication is desirable.
