Assist physicians with complete patient care and Contribute to the well-being of patients by serving as a positive role model and demonstrating a professional, caring attitude, and behavior towards co-workers, patients, and guests.
Call patient from reception area and prepare patient for examination by providing gowns.
Take vital signs such as height, weight, temperature and blood pressure. May draw blood and give injections.
Record all pertinent patient information in EMR
Chaperone physician in examining room as needed; assist with minor surgical and diagnostic procedures.
Sterilize equipment and supplies.
Clean exam rooms and stock them with necessary supplies.
Inventory and requisition supplies.
Administer immunizations and other injections.
May perform clerical duties such as reviewing and returning phone calls from patients, phone triage, patient scheduling, and calling pharmacies.
Review patient lab results, discuss abnormal findings with the physician and follow up with patient in regard to treatment prescribed by the physician as necessary
Check tasks in EMR daily
May perform NST with certification which will be provided by EVMS
Return to Hofhiemer Hall when no patients are scheduled at the Princess Anne Campus and/or on Friday when Uro/GYN has office hours.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Completion of a program of instruction for licensure as an LPN and valid VA LPN license is required. Previous clinical experience is preferred.
