  • Overview

    The Research Associate will work alongside the director in the role of coordinating and supporting the Healthcare Analytics and Delivery Science Institute (HADSI). He/she will assist with the data management, research design and statistical support provided by HADSI. In addition, the research associate will be performing administrative tasks related to HADSI services. Full-time, 40 hours per week.


    • Perform administrative tasks related to HADSI services
    • Work with students, residents and faculty members on new and existing research initiatives
    • Schedule and maintain contact with collaborators
    • Update the research database
    • Perform data cleaning, data collection, data analysis and other data related tasks
    • Translate and report data analysis results
    • Generate reports for internal and external audiences
    • Assist with teaching or lecturing in research training programs
    • Work with the director to prioritize and triage work load
    • Performs other duties as assigned



    Bachelor’s degree in statistics, epidemiology, or health science with relevant statistical training. Plus three (3) years of relevant post-graduate work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree is preferred. Experience in data analysis and working collaboratively in a biomedical or health analytic research environment is preferred.



    Statistical background is required, as supported by record of coursework and experience in applying statistical knowledge. Advanced experience in coding and use of SAS statistical software is preferred. Knowledge of other statistical packages such as R, SUDAAN, STATA, or SPSS is a plus. Candidate should be proficient and an advanced user of Excel and able to design simple databases in MS Access. Organizational skills and ability to prioritize and complete work on a schedule are essential.


    The candidate should also be familiar with organizing and managing large databases, planning analytical approaches, and performing appropriate and informative analyses. More specifically, the candidate should be able to define technical problems in research projects and databases and to implement new or revised statistical approaches. The candidate should also be capable of performing critical analyses of the literature relevant to ongoing or planned research.
