  • Overview

    This position assists in the coordination of clinical research projects starting with the evaluation of feasibility and safety of the study. The position will participate actively in the research projects of a diverse group of researchers in the EVMS community.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in IRB preparation
    • Responsible for data collection and security of documentation as well as reporting to the granting agencies
    • Explain study requirements to volunteers, obtaining informed consents prior to study initiation.
    • Counsels patients regarding side effects and providing appropriate follow-up.
    • Sterilizes equipment and supplies. Inventories and requisitions supplies.
    • Maintains all regulatory documentation, accurate patient logs and study flow sheets. Acts as liaison with study monitor for case file audits.
    • Takes part in the pre screening of study volunteers. Evaluates potential volunteers by obtaining in depth medical history as related to study inclusion/exclusion criteria.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry or another field related to the specific field of research from a four-year college or university.

    One (1) year of previous clinical research experience required.
