The position serves as an instructor and technical advisor. This position will counsel on protocol development and provide assistance use of various educational technologies.
Maintain a working knowledge of emerging technologies which can be used in instructional settings to support student learning. Educational technologies will include (but not limited to) web-based/online learning, on-line testing, course management systems (Blackboard, Canvas), self-directed tutorials, video streaming and digital multimedia.
Identify instructional design methodologies for the online environment and have experience integrating technology into the teaching/learning process to meet learning
Assist faculty with integrating technology into the curriculum resulting in increased faculty and student course satisfaction
Create e-learning applications resulting in increased online learning opportunities for students
Evaluate software products for curriculum mapping, evaluation and scheduling
Create instructional graphics and multimedia to use in courses
Collaborate with faculty, staff and students to create opportunities for increased instructional technology adoption in the curriculum
Communicate complicated technical information to a non-technical audience resulting in increased technology adoption
Apply knowledge and experience with new media technologies, networking standards, file format compatibility, video streaming technologies, and wireless technologies to create faculty development courses
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design or a related field.
At least five (5) years of experience in instructional design, distance learning, or corporate training.
Experience in designing college-level online courses.
Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
Prior experience with learning management systems, multimedia applications such as video capture, live broadcast and courseware authoring tools for instructional purposes.
Understanding of best practice related to online learning and teaching.
Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects and working with multiple stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to support and troubleshoot software problems.
Experience in graduate education, with emphasis on health professions programs.
Demonstrated teaching, training, or staff development experience, with emphasis on distance learning.
