  • Overview

    The Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment provides direction, high-level professional expertise, and education on all facets of assessment to administrators, faculty, and staff within academic, students’ support services, and administrative units.

    Responsibilities

    Coordinates and collaborates with assessment experts in SOM and SoHP to streamline and align assessment activities, reporting processes, structures, and information flow to make sure that Institutional assessment needs and requirements are met. Institutional assessment needs are given priority as part of the collaborative process with SOM and SoHP and continuous improvement efforts.

     

    Manages accreditation-reporting systems.

     

    Monitors quality of assessment reports for academic, student support services, administrative, general education, community service, and research assessment.

     

    Prepares high-quality institutional reports of assessment results and studies to be shared with administrators, faculty, staff accreditation agencies, legislative bodies, and the public.

     

    Develops, deploys, and supports institutional effectiveness and builds assessment capacity by creating and implementing effective and efficient processes, tools, and resources.

     

    Explores continuous improvement structures and innovations around assessment use.

     

    Investigates, initiates, and facilitates effective assessment policy implementation.

     

    Increases IAE visibility, utility, and usefulness across EVMS.

     

    Provides input for the development and maintenance of the OSPIE website and contributes to institutional accountability and accreditation efforts as needed.

     

    Will not have any direct reports initially but may in the future depending on workload and staffing needs.

     

    May be required to prepare and monitor an operating budget.

     

    Provide training to stakeholders aligned with selected processes or software employed.

     

    Present findings and solution driven approaches to professional meetings (SACSCOC, LCME)

     

    Participate in the development of scholarship

     

    Qualifications

     

    Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, education or a related field with coursework in research design, data management, and statistics or related field and 7 years related experience with demonstrated skills in research design, modeling, multivariate analysis, statistics, analytics, and management. Master’s degree and high-level of proficiency in engaging current and emerging technologies in analytics is preferred.
