Cancer Biology Laboratory (PI, Dr. Amy H. Tang) would like to recruit a competitive Ph.D. scientist and/or a new PhD graduate to fulfill the duties of a Postdoctoral Scientist in the Leroy T. Canoles Jr. Cancer Research Center at Eastern Virginia Medical School. This position will work under the general direction and research supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI), Dr. Amy H. Tang.
A strong background and prior research experiences in working with clinical and preclinical models of pancreatic cancer and triple negative breast cancer, oncogenic EGFR/K-RAS-driven cancer biology, tumor immunology, and/or systems biology will be a clear strength. The position will be responsible for managing the overall operations of the laboratory including clinical database management, clinical animal models, ordering, recording, and inventory. Ability to multi-task in a highly creative environment and flexibility to work in a fast-paced team in a professional, interactive, and positive environment is a necessity.
Effective communication, meticulous data organization, and excellent interpersonal skills are required. Ability to generate, analyze, and interpret scientific data with honesty, integrity, ethics, and high standards in science and medicine. Ability to perform data analyses, write scientific manuscripts in a timely fashion. Ability to effectively communicate with Dr. Tang, interact with her PhD/MD/MS students, and our clinicians/scientists/administrators productively.
Successful PhD applicant should have at least one first author publication from his/her PhD training and he/she should demonstrate scientific productivity, curiosity, dedication, high-quality work, positive can-do attitude, great work ethic, and high-level professionalism working in a multi-institutional team.
