Overview

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS), is seeking an outstanding full-time Board Certified or Board Eligible fellowship trained Maternal-Fetal Medicine physician to join the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine.  The Maternal-Fetal Medicine division is a regional referral center for Eastern Virginia and Northern North Carolina and is currently staffed by 10 superb faculty with diverse interests in all aspects of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and strong commitment to care. Our Maternal-Fetal Medicine team consists of MFM physicians, highly skilled sonographers, genetic counselors, perinatal nurses, advanced practice providers and research coordinators. MFM specialty clinics include placenta accreta spectrum, maternal cardiac disease, fetal growth restriction, diabetes in pregnancy among others. The MFM division also supports an ACGME-approved MFM fellowship program with two fellows per year and a robust infrastructure conducive for clinical research activities. The MFM division also plays a leadership role in a newly formed Center for Maternal and Child Health Equity and Advocacy.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Nursing, office staff, administration in patient care

Collaborate with peers, faculty and support staff

Participate in academic/clinical/research activities as needed

Participate in clinical based research projects as needed.

Participate in committees as assigned.

Communication skills to present teaching materials

Participate in education evaluation and career development of students, residents, fellows and staff.

Provide physician care to patients in office/hospital setting.

Supervise staff under faculty supervision.
