Overview

Responsible for supervising clinical practice operations.

Responsibilities

Plans and organizes activities, staffing, and work assignments to ensure patient needs are met in accordance with instructions of Physician.

 

Consults with Physicians, Administrator/Practice Manager or Medical Director on problems and interpretation of departmental policies to ensure patient needs are met.

 

Plans and organized orientation and in-service training for unit staff members and participates in guidance and educational programs.

 

May assist in formulating budget.

 

Directly supervises admin staff and collaborates on employee matters for clinical staff with the Nurse Supervisor.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the medical school’s policies and applicable laws.

 

Ensures that a response is made in a timely manner to all customer complaints relating to the practice’s operation.

 

Investigates source of customer complaints and recommends changes to prevent repetition.

Assists the Department Administrator in the recruitment, selection, assignment and termination of support staff.

 

Assists and coordinates with orientation of all residents for the.

 

Evaluates all personnel for whom there is direct responsibility and reviews evaluations of personnel completed by supervisory staff.

 

Ensures the facilities, equipment, and supplies are properly maintained.

 

Assists Department Administrator in developing an annual budget for the practice and short and long range goals for capital equipment and facility improvements.

 

Ensures proper coding and timely charge entry for all clinical services provided by the practice.

 

Monitors collection and payment reports and identifies areas for improvement.

 

Oversees petty cash system.

 

Performs other duties as assigned.

 

PATIENT CONFIDENTIALITY MUST BE MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare management, or related field is required.  Two years of progressively more responsible positions in group practice management required; operations experience or large multi-specialty group practice is preferred.  Computer experience including work processing and spreadsheets required.  Health care software experience preferred.
