Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) is seeking a faculty member (open rank) for a full-time (12-month) position in our new Master of Healthcare Administration Program.
The region offers many opportunities for research collaboration with investigators in both healthcare and community-based settings. Notable campus centers include the Strelitz Diabetes Institute, the Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine, the Glennan Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology, and the M. Foscue Brock Institute for Community and Global Health. The Master of Public Health Program enjoys close relationships with the School of Medicine, health care providers, and public health communities. EVMS shares the Eastern Virginia Medical Center campus with Sentara Norfolk General Hospital (one of 11 acute care hospitals in a top integrated healthcare system) and Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (part of a multi-specialty health system offering comprehensive pediatric care).
Responsibilities for this faculty position include teaching graduate courses, conducting and disseminating original research related to healthcare management and administration, advising and mentoring graduate students, serving on Program and University committees, participating in Program assessment activities, and ensuring that the Program continues to meet all external accreditation requirements.
We expect an average enrollment of 20 new students per year, with approximately 40 students in the Program at any given time. Students will complete the MHA degree in two years by taking courses for five consecutive terms. They curriculum will be offered in a hybrid format, with residential classes held during evening hours.

Faculty candidates must possess a Ph.D. or other relevant terminal degree in a directly related field (e.g., healthcare management, health services research, finance, operations management).
