Responsible for answering a high volume of telephone calls, redirecting calls to appropriate physicians or staff, scheduling new and established patient appointments, reviewing and building patient demographic information in IDX, scanning records into Allscripts. Complete task from assigned task views. Other administrative front desk responsibilities as assigned by the Office Coordinator or Practice Manager.

• • Check in and register patients.
  • Confirm and update patient registration information at each visit.
  • Scan insurance card and picture ID into EMR system at each visit.
  • Collect all co-pays and payments and complete cash journals daily.
  • Obtain authorizations and referrals from referring physician’s offices.
  • Scheduling of incoming referrals in a timely manner.
  • Answering telephone in accordance with Medical Group Standards.
  • Communicating with patients regarding self-pay agreements.
  • Complete EHR tasks in accordance with Medical Group Standards.

   

  • Invite patients to patient portal (Follow My Health) and update status in the EHR.
  • Re-invite and assist patients with FMH issues/questions.
  • Monitor and resolve FMH patient registration issues through FMH Dashboard.
  • Check insurance eligibility using Availity and Medicaid online resources.
  • Send tasks for all preauthorization needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, according to the individual departmental needs.

One (1) year office/clerical experience and Experience performing related functions in a medical practice is preferred. Previous front desk customer service experience will be considered.  Professional, customer service-oriented individual is required. Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
