This position is part of the management team of the Department of Medicine. The position practices within the American Nursing Association (ANA) Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics. The role will be responsible for oversight, mentoring, and training of the RN’s, LPN’s and Medical Assistants in the clinical practices for the Department across multiple practice locations. Per the mission of the EVMS Medical Group, this position will lead all clinical quality initiatives in the practice and will work collaboratively with the Department Associate Chair, Quality & Clinical Affairs to support providers in reaching these goals. The Director of Nursing will be responsible for clinical staff compliance with procedures and processes put in place to ensure goal achievement. This position will work collaboratively and be a resource for the Divisional Practice/Office Managers in the department.

Clinical Staff Training and Development:
BSN and Virginia Registered Nurse licenses are required.
Five (5) years of nursing supervisory experience in a medical group, office or hospital environment is required.
Progressively more responsible positions in clinical practice within a large medical group practice is strongly preferred.
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with the public, partners, customers, and co-workers; while working cooperatively and effectively with others to achieve common goals.
Ability to manage time and resources to ensure assignments are completed accurately and deadlines are met. Meets attendance/punctuality requirements.
Ability to adapt to changing work environments, work priorities, and organizational needs with enthusiasm and energy. Takes independent action to address and resolve problems.
Ability to expresses ideas effectively and demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making.
Ability to deal with others in a direct honest manner and comply with all EVMS policies and procedures.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages. Ability to interpret common data graphs, display data graphically, and apply concepts of basic algebra and statistical analysis.
