We are seeking dynamic and motivated Night Medicine Hospitalist Faculty to join the Division of Hospital Medicine within the Department of Medicine. This is a unique academic position that offers the opportunity to work in a leading-edge quaternary care referral center—Sentara Norfolk General Hospital (SNGH); a level one trauma center recognized nationally for its excellence across numerous specialties.

Responsibilities

  • Academic Appointment at the Assistant Professor rank (or higher, based on qualifications).
  • Engage in teaching and mentoring of night-float residents and other learners.
  • Provide cross-coverage for overflow non-teaching patients, and manage admissions independently when needed.
  • Ample opportunities to teach internal medicine residents, medical students, and other learners across our affiliated programs.

Qualifications

We are looking for a board-certified or board-eligible candidate who has completed an ACGME-certified residency in Internal Medicine. Applicants must hold a Virginia medical license and DEA certification. We seek individuals with outstanding clinical skills, a passion for high-quality patient care, and a commitment to medical education and clinical research. We welcome J-1 and H-1B Visa applicants.
