Acts as liaison between the patient, physician, hospital business office and the insurance company in scheduling surgical procedures.

• Schedule surgeries and operating room posting
• Coordinates specific, ongoing functions of a department.
• Reads and routes incoming mail.
• Types and proofreads correspondence, reports and manuscripts.
• Answers telephone and gives information to callers or routes call to appropriate official.
• Schedules appointments, types and distributes schedule to interested parties when needed.
• Provides information to management regarding specific area of responsibility
• Complies and types statistical reports.
• Prepares outgoing mail; sends and receives faxed messages.
• May assign to and review work of clerical staff.
• Manage faculty Outlook calendar and coordinate meetings and seminars.
• Schedules all surgical procedures for the faculty member and provides surgery date, time and location to patients.
• Update all licensing and credentialing for faculty member when needed.
• Batching charges and receipts to be posted.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred candidates should have prior medical office experience. Previous experience in surgical scheduling is a plus.
