Overview

The Practice Manager I is responsible for supervising clinical practice operations in one or more offices within a department. 

 

Responsibilities

Supervises all daily practice support functions to ensure the delivery of quality health care. 

 

Responsible for all clinical and office supply and equipment purchases/requisitions through the PROCURE + system.

 

Ensures the facilities, equipment, and supplies are properly maintained and stocked accordingly.

 

Monitors activities continuously to ensure that the practice conforms to the EVMS HS Quality Standards and all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

 

Oversees the daily flow of the physicians surgery scheduling (HOSPITAL – OR schedules).

 

Assist with the implementation of policies and procedures governing all aspects of practice operations.

 

Works with the E HR team  and Department Administrator to resolve E H R or IT  staff and faculty issues as needed.

 

Serves as the SuperUser for the E H R and IDX systems.

 

Ensures that a response is made in a timely manner to all customer complaints relating to the practice’s operation. Investigates source of customer complaints and recommends changes to prevent repetition.

 

Assists the Administrator in the recruitment, selection, assignment and termination of support staff.

 

Serves as the SuperUser for the E H R and IDX systems.

 

Hands on knowledge of front desk procedures to include insurance and co-pay collections, etc and provide back up as needed

.

Provides an environment conducive to staff and provider individuality and creativity as well as responsibility.

 

Works with the Administrator to resolve issues relating to physician appointment schedules and daily clinical operations.

 

Attend all meetings assigned.

 

Assists the Administrator in the recruitment, selection, assignment and termination of support staff.

 

Ensures proper orientation of all providers and support staff.

 

Evaluates all personnel for whom there is direct responsibility and reviews evaluations of personnel completed by supervisory staff.

 

Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in business (preferred, but not required) or healthcare management or related officed supervisory 

Relevant experience in a medical office environment to include MA, LPN in surgical practice is a plus. 

Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, Electronic Health Record, and IDX Billing System is preferred.
