Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Infectious Disease physician to join our esteemed Division of Infectious Diseases Medicine. We are seeking an individual who has a passion for driving clinical excellence and fulfilling and actively participating in our educational mission.

 

The Department of Medicine, at Macon and Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences, Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) at Old Dominion University (ODU), is committed to providing exceptional care and support to patients requiring Infectious Disease medical care services. Responsibilities

Here are some of the exciting things you will get to do as a faculty member:

 

  • Establish and maintain high standards of patient care.
  • Opportunity to conduct research and scholarship.
  • Collaborate with other Divisions, Departments and area hospitals to promote interdisciplinary care and foster growth of the Division.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and educational excellence, and promoting the professional development of residents, fellows, and other learners.
  • Support and grow clinical and training programs to meet the unique needs of the populations served.
  • Provide medical care to patients in a hospital and outpatient clinic setting.
  • Collaborate with Nursing, office staff, administration in patient care.
  • Collaborate with peers, faculty and support staff.
  • Participate in education evaluation and career development of students, residents, fellows and staff.
  • Participate in committees as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is:

  • Board-certified or board-eligible, fellowship trained in Infectious Disease.
  • Eligible for rank at Assistant or Associate level.
  • Eligible for clinical practice license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Must hold an MD, DO, or MBBS through the VA State Licensing Board.
