The Department of Family Medicine at Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University is seeking a full-time, board certified, clinical faculty at rank of Assistant Professor.

Clinical Practice

• Provides comprehensive physician care in outpatient and hospital settings, including patient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, procedures as applicable, documentation, and care coordination.
• Exercises independent clinical judgment consistent with specialty standards and institutional policies.
• Collaborates with nursing, allied health professionals, trainees, and administrative staff to ensure quality and continuity of care.

Teaching & Clinical Supervision

• Provides clinical instruction and supervision to medical students, residents, fellows, and other trainees.
• Participates in learner assessment, feedback, and evaluation processes consistent with departmental educational objectives.

Academic Service & Administrative Contributions

• Participates in departmental meetings, faculty governance, committee service, and policy development activities.
• Supports accreditation, quality improvement, and institutional initiatives as assigned.

Scholarly Activity

• Engages in scholarly activity consistent with academic rank, which may include research participation, publications, presentations, or quality improvement initiatives
