As a key member of the clinical support team within the Voice and Swallowing Center, a part of the Division of Laryngology within the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, this position  plays a vital role in the overall management of the manometry services offered within the Division as well as assist patients in the transition between inpatient and outpatient care. The Division is currently active at three practice locations but it is anticipated that this role will spend the majority of their time and effort at the office located inside of Norfolk General Hospital. The position works collaboratively with all Division staff members, and providers, and has direct accountability to the Division Director.

Performs all phases of Third Party Billing and Follow-up on services provided by EVMS Medical Group clinical staff.

Under direction of the Division Director for Head and Neck Surgery, and accountable to the Practice Manager, this position will have a primary responsibility to provide Administrative and Surgery Scheduling support to assigned Division Faculty members. The position will also play a key role in coordination with interfacing with Sentara staff members in the overall goal in producing the highest possible patient experience within the Sentara-EVMS Comprehensive Head and Neck Cancer Center.  The position is currently located at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and it is anticipated that the role will move to the Sentara Leigh Campus in July 2024.

This includes working independently and collaboratively with a sponsoring physician, and internal medicine residency program teaching teams, providing a wide range of health care services. The scope of practice encompasses conducting thorough health assessments, diagnosing medical conditions, developing personalized medical plans of care, and prescribing/providing treatments and interventions. APP will also play a key role in evaluating patient responses, making referrals, and adeptly managing both acute and stable chronic illnesses. This position offers a unique opportunity to work independently during overnight shifts, showcasing autonomy and expertise. APPs will have access to remote physician support as needed, ensuring a collaborative and supportive environment.   Will include a night shift differential in pay.

Responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining the information technology systems for EVMS. Duties include designing the basic computing infrastructure to accomplish key tasks, establishing networking rules for cybersecurity, monitoring/addressing to network security issues, and troubleshooting network errors and other technical issues.  

Function as an independent nurse clinician in coordinating ante partum fetal testing for high risk patients to include the performance, interpretation, and reporting of test results, assessment of patient status, educational needs, and follow up care.  Serves as team leader of nursing staff (LPN, Medical Assistants and Diabetic Educator) and serves as clinic supervisor in the absence of the office manager.  Assists with patients on the floor as needed in the absence of other staff.  Provides education for staff and community and assists with research programs.

The Public Safety Officer provides safety and security services for the EVMS Campus through active patrols and manning stationary posts. The Public Safety Officer directs traffic, provides vehicle assistance (jump starts, flat tires, lock outs), and ensures safe movement of people and vehicles throughout the campus. The Public Safety Officer monitors building ingress, registers visitors, and provides directions. The Public Safety Officer ensures building and facility security and integrity through periodic patrol and inspection of all buildings and grounds during tours of duty. The Public Safety Officer is an identifiable ambassador for EVMS and is expected to be courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable of the EVMS Campus, services, and policies.

Team Care Member provides prescribed medical treatment, personal care and education services to ill, injured, convalescent and disabled persons in such settings as hospitals and/or doctor’s office.  Team Care Members play a major role in care management implementation of patient-centered medical home concepts, including involvement in quality improvement teams  and PCMH workgroups. Need skills and experience in motivational interviewing or at least readiness to learn the skills

This position will function as an independent nurse primarily in the Urogynecology division, providing evaluation and treatment of pelvic floor disorders.  The Registered Nurse will also provide care to and in support of patients to include coordinating resources, scheduling appointments, coordinating referrals, follow up care, patient education, and other resources as identified for patients.  This integral position is a part of the Urogynecology Division designed to decrease fragmentation of care and coordinate services.  In addition to supporting the clinical and educational needs of the patient, the position will enhance patient access and ease of clinical evaluation for referring physicians and services.    This position requires travel to multiple office locations.
