As a key member of the clinical support team within the Voice and Swallowing Center, a part of the Division of Laryngology within the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, this position  plays a vital role in the overall management of the manometry services offered within the Division as well as assist patients in the transition between inpatient and outpatient care. The Division is currently active at three practice locations but it is anticipated that this role will spend the majority of their time and effort at the office located inside of Norfolk General Hospital. The position works collaboratively with all Division staff members, and providers, and has direct accountability to the Division Director.

This program is supported by EVMS and Sentara Health. The goal of this program is to provide top-notch outpatient and inpatient clinical care to patients with sickle cell disease. We are looking for Advanced Practice Providers (APP), a nurse practitioner (NP) or a physician assistant (PA), who will function as a clinical provider in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine. The APP will participate in all aspects of patient care and will participate in the supporting roles of consultant and educator as indicated.  The clinical practice will mostly focus on clinical care of patients with Sickle Cell Disease in the hospital and in the outpatient clinic under supervision of clinical faculty. The clinical practice may also include provision of primary care to all types of patients.

The Public Safety Officer provides safety and security services for the EVMS Campus through active patrols and manning stationary posts. The Public Safety Officer directs traffic, provides vehicle assistance (jump starts, flat tires, lock outs), and ensures safe movement of people and vehicles throughout the campus. The Public Safety Officer monitors building ingress, registers visitors, and provides directions. The Public Safety Officer ensures building and facility security and integrity through periodic patrol and inspection of all buildings and grounds during tours of duty.
