Serves as a representative for a medical group call center. Responsible for answering calls and scheduling appointments in a high-volume call center environment. Ability to remain calm and perform duties efficiently under stress. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Manual dexterity. Must demonstrate ability to effectively communicate and interact with all age groups. MUST have Excellent Customer Service Skills. Patient confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
The position will assist in reviewing and negotiating a high volume of clinical study agreements and related agreements/documents on behalf of EVMS. This position involves working with global partners, faculty, staff and General Counsel during the contracting process. Must be detailed-oriented, effective organizational and administrative skills, including superior attention to detail, and able to handle multiple projects in a deadline driven environment.

Under the daily supervision of the Department Administrator , and Clinical Supervision of a Psychiatrist, this role functions as a physician assistant within EVMS Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. This role will enable the Department Psychiatrists to expand their capacity to perform new patient comprehensive evaluations, and to provide patient care for patients that have established and determined diagnosis. Utilizes DSM5 principles to modify patient diagnoses and treatment under the direction of a supervising psychiatrist.

The Lead MA is responsible for assisting department management in coordination of patient care and clinic operations to include, but not limited to: being the primary Super User directly responsible for assisting providers and clinic staff with immediate EHR concerns, assists providers and clinic staff with outstanding tasks for patient centered quality care, and is a line of contact between clinic staff and department management in giving detailed clinical operations reports regarding clinic staff and provider’s concerns to implement quality improvement measures.

A research assistant is available in the addiction lab, Department of Pathology and Anatomy. The Research Assistant will perform both lab managerial tasks as well as basic scientific research in the field of neuroscience. Research will focus on the mechanisms responsible microglial activation induced by abused drug and HIV proteins using in vitro assays and mouse models. Studies may involve mouse brain surgery.
Management of all IRB studies submitted with Sentara Healthcare as the primary site. Assists in the management of collaborative studies involving Sentara as a sub-site. Ensures such studies reviewed by EVMS IRBs and the IRB office meet all relevant federal, state and institutional regulations, guidelines and expectations. This position has a direct impact on the compliance of both institutions regarding the use of humans in research. The position will be housed in the EVMS IRB office and will be reporting to the Director of the Human Subjects’ Protections Program.
