Nursing and medicine must maintain ongoing collaboration in education and practice so that the nurse practitioner is maximally effective in meeting the primary health-care needs of women. Position supports all office locations. Practitioner will be required to travel between all office locations.

This position will provide a combination of inpatient and outpatient care duties.
Responsible for greeting patients, answering the telephone, scanning pertinent patient data into the electronic medical record, checking patients in and out, verifying patient insurance and referrals, and scheduling appointments for Maternal Fetal Medicine, OB Generalist, and Uro-gynecology office.

The Medical Officer/Lead Clinical R&D Scientist will be responsible for developing and elaborating new concepts, designing clinical research protocols, leading clinical research team meetings, analyzing data, preparing clinical study reports and manuscripts, co-authoring grant proposals, writing/reviewing clinical portions of regulatory documents (e.g. IND, IRB, IB), and attending and participating in scientific conferences and meetings on behalf of CONRAD and study teams. S/He will contribute to monitoring overall study integrity and the review, interpretation and communication of accumulating data pertaining to safety and efficacy. S/He will also oversee extramural clinical subprojects (collaborations) and liaise with public and private sector organizations interested in CONRAD’s women’s health portfolio. The Medical Officer/Lead Clinical R&D Scientist is expected to assist with or lead the writing and submission of new clinical research funding applications. S/He will stay current and maintain knowledge/excellence on the state of the art in women’s and global health clinical R&D in areas of priority to CONRAD’s mission and goals. Seeing patients is not required. Together, through excellence in clinical research, strong writing/communication skills capable of targeting multiple audiences, and capacity to lead interdisciplinary programs and serve as a role model to others, the Medical Officer/Lead Clinical R&D Scientist will contribute substantially to CONRAD’s mission to improve global health through the development of innovative, user-centered technologies.
The Research Assistant is incorporated into the team for Project Engage, a Global Development Alliance led by CONRAD and dedicated to advancing new HIV prevention methods for adolescent girls and young women in resource constrained countries with high HIV incidence. This position works collaboratively with CONRAD’s socio-behavioral and clinical research scientists and collaborators to support various aspects of socio-behavioral research such as the interpretation and dissemination of study results for Project Engage. This position conducts data analysis, draft manuscripts and study reports, and assist with various project R&D support and coordination activities. Together, through strong time management and interpersonal skills, experience and capacity for socio-behavioral research, and ability to learn new skills and adapt to changing priorities, the Research Assistant will contribute substantially to CONRAD’s mission to improve global health through the development of innovative, user-centered technologies.
A postdoctoral scholar position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Petra Popovics in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Cell Biology at Eastern Virginia Medical School. The successful candidate will lead projects exploring transcriptome/proteome/lipidome of the prostate in mouse models of inflammation and hyperplasia as well as in human specimens and will perform chemical, biological, molecular biological, surgical or other laboratory tests and procedures in support of these projects. Highly motivated, hard-working, and technically skilled applicants with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

The Financial Analyst for the Department of Medicine works effectively with Department/Division Administration and the clinical operations teams to ensure overall financial performance within budgeted parameters and Department/Division forecasting and analysis. This position serves as the internal financial consultant to the Department/Divisions, and coordinates with both internal and external resources to provide the appropriate analytical and strategic support for manager decision making. The Financial Analyst is involved in annual budget preparation and long-range financial forecasting for the Department/Divisions, prepares appropriate budget variance analyses to drive any corrective action, assist with preparing necessary business plans for capital expenditures or new clinical programs or new businesses. The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting the Department Administrator II in continuous improvement of the financial performance of the Department. This portion helps identify and assists in solving problems which present as barriers to effective financial performance.
Responsible for providing patient care and treatment within the Urogynecology subspecialty at EVMS. Function as an independent provider in the evaluation and treatment of pelvic floor disorders. Review and follow-up on diagnostic and laboratory tests. This position requires travel to multiple office locations.
This position is responsible for designating appropriate ICD-10 and CPT Codes for specialty focused professional billing in Radiation Oncology at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital (SVBGH) as well as patient registration and charge entry of the same. Assist in auditing provider documentation of consultations, re-evaluations and follow up visits at SVBGH facility to ensure documentation justifies level of code capture for professional billing. Assist with Sentara Norfolk General (SNG) and Sentara Obici (SOH) Specialty focused professional billing on a daily basis with patient registration and preparation. Assist in physician education when needed.
The Patient Account Specialist is responsible for performing duties in the billing division pertaining to all aspects of the revenue cycle, which includes but is not limited to extracting and updating appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes, data entry, denials, patient account research, and insurance follow-up. The position will also play a key role in the daily entry of inpatient and outpatient charges for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology which includes Maternal Fetal Medicine, General Obstetrics and Gynecology, Urogynecology and Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery.
This position is responsible for assisting with physician and staff education based upon EVMS Medical Group Compliance Guidelines, coding guidelines and results of chart audits in conjunction with the Billing Manager. The position will assist with conducting internal departmental mini-audits to ensure inpatient and outpatient medical records contain sufficient documentation to justify the frequency and type of services being billed to carriers and patients.
