Responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding philanthropic relationships and investments at the high five, six, and seven figure level in support of Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University. Manages a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors, builds strong relationships with alumni, grateful patients, community leaders, and institutional partners, and develops tailored strategies to secure transformative support for medical education, research, clinical priorities, and community health initiatives.
This role serves as the communications lead for Brock VHS Development & Alumni Relations team, translating complex academic, clinical and philanthropic initiatives into compelling visually polished materials across platforms. The position focuses on developing communication plans, designing donor facing assets, supporting stewardship efforts, maintaining philanthropic web and newsletter content, and ensuring Brock VHS philanthropy is consistently represented in the digital space. With the support of modern AI enabled tools, this position emphasizes communications strategy, presentation, and execution rather than traditional long-form writing alone.
Reporting to the Sr. Associate Vice President, this position is responsible for overseeing and executing a fundraising program that includes major, leadership, and annual giving, and corporate and foundation relations for Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University. Leads a team of frontline fundraisers, manages a portfolio of high-capacity and principal-level prospects, partners closely with academic and clinical leadership, and advances a comprehensive philanthropic strategy aligned with institutional and university-wide fundraising goals.
