As a key member of the clinical support team within the Voice and Swallowing Center, a part of the Division of Laryngology within the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, this position  plays a vital role in the overall management of the manometry services offered within the Division as well as assist patients in the transition between inpatient and outpatient care. The Division is currently active at three practice locations but it is anticipated that this role will spend the majority of their time and effort at the office located inside of Norfolk General Hospital. The position works collaboratively with all Division staff members, and providers, and has direct accountability to the Division Director.

Responsible for front and back office procedures. Also assists Physicians and Nurses with medical examination of patients.

We are looking for Advanced Practice Providers (APP), a nurse practitioner (NP) or a physician assistant (PA), who will function as a clinical provider in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine. This is a full‐time position for a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)providing outpatient nursing care to geriatrics and/or patients with cognitive/neurodegenerative healthcare needs. This includes working independently and collaboratively with a sponsoring physician, and internal medicine residency program teaching teams, providing a wide range of health care services. The scope of practice encompasses conducting thorough health assessments, diagnosing medical conditions, developing personalized medical plans of care, and prescribing/providing treatments and interventions. APP will also play a key role in evaluating patient responses, making referrals, and adeptly managing both acute and stable chronic illnesses. This position offers a unique opportunity to work independently during overnight shifts, showcasing autonomy and expertise. APPs will have access to remote physician support as needed, ensuring a collaborative and supportive environment.   Will include a night shift differential in pay.

Team Care Member provides prescribed medical treatment, personal care and education services to ill, injured, convalescent and disabled persons in such settings as hospitals and/or doctor’s office.  Team Care Members play a major role in care management implementation of patient-centered medical home concepts, including involvement in quality improvement teams  and PCMH workgroups. Need skills and experience in motivational interviewing or at least readiness to learn the skills

This position will function as an independent nurse primarily in the Urogynecology division, providing evaluation and treatment of pelvic floor disorders.  The Registered Nurse will also provide care to and in support of patients to include coordinating resources, scheduling appointments, coordinating referrals, follow up care, patient education, and other resources as identified for patients.  This integral position is a part of the Urogynecology Division designed to decrease fragmentation of care and coordinate services.  In addition to supporting the clinical and educational needs of the patient, the position will enhance patient access and ease of clinical evaluation for referring physicians and services.    This position requires travel to multiple office locations.

The position will assist in reviewing and negotiating a high volume of clinical study agreements and related agreements/documents on behalf of EVMS.  This position involves working with global partners, faculty, staff and General Counsel during the contracting process.  Must be detailed-oriented, effective organizational and administrative skills, including superior attention to detail, and able to handle multiple projects in a deadline driven environment.       The incumbent in this position may be eligible for up to three days of telework in accordance to EVMS policy

Under the daily supervision of the Department Administrator , and Clinical Supervision of a Psychiatrist, this role functions as a physician assistant within EVMS Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. This role will enable the Department Psychiatrists to expand their capacity to perform new patient comprehensive evaluations, and to   provide patient care for patients that have established and determined diagnosis. Utilizes DSM5 principles to modify patient diagnoses and treatment under the direction of a supervising psychiatrist.

The Lead MA is responsible for assisting department management in coordination of patient care and clinic operations to include, but not limited to:  being the primary Super User directly responsible for assisting providers and clinic staff with immediate EHR concerns,  assists providers and clinic staff with outstanding tasks for patient centered quality care, and is a line of contact between clinic staff and department management in giving detailed clinical operations reports regarding clinic staff and provider’s concerns to implement quality improvement measures.

Patient care responsibilities to include patient education, obtaining prior medical history, patient care coordination, completing all required scheduling for patient testing as well as allergy testing and allergy immunizations under supervision, ordering allergy supplies, stocking rooms & inventory of clinical supplies.  

The Speech Pathologist acts as an active member of the Laryngology and Head and Neck teams. This position works closely with experienced, specialized Otolaryngologists primarily in the outpatient setting, with some inpatient work, exclusively supporting a large academic tertiary referral practice focusing on the evaluation and management of a range of complex voice, airway, and swallowing disorders.
